
I walk into the laundry room and I see Salem about to throw up into the litter box.
“No, you have to do it over there.” I point to the living room.
Salem lifts his head up, “Are you sure? I thought we were supposed to yak in here.”
“No, our human likes to clean it up over there, especially after she mops. I heard her say once, ‘If I had a nickel for every time you yakked on my newly clean floor, I’d be rich.'” I smile at Salem. “I figure if we do it a few more times, she’ll have enough to buy us a new cat bed!”
You forgot to mention it has to be on the carpet – never the floor. The carpet is much, much better.

Salem does need mentoring. Imagine yakking in the litter room on a solid floor. Unheard of! Actually a bedspread is the place of choice in this house!

I quite agree, I am doing my best to teach him. But he’s a bit slow, so there’s just so much I can do.
